If you would like to transport a small musical instrument on board a Wizz Air flight, the size limits defined for large cabin bags are applicable, with the exception of length. In the case of musical instruments, the limit defined for length is different than the standard limit for large cabin bags. The instrument can be taken on board in a safe carrying case. The length of the instrument, including the case, may not exceed 80 cm. However, the other two dimensions of the case may not exceed the standard limits defined for large cabin bags, i.e. a maximum width of 45 cm and depth of 25 cm. Generally, the following instruments comply with the aforementioned conditions, together with their carrying cases: violin, viola, flute, clarinet, trumpet, ukulele. The size of the instrument is checked by placing it in Wizz Air’s bag sizer cage used for measuring large cabin bags. The instrument must fit in the cage in terms of width and depth, and its length may not exceed 80 cm. The passenger may not take any other cabin baggage on board, other than the small musical instrument. In the passenger cabin, the instrument must be placed in an overhead baggage compartment.

Large instruments can be transported on board Wizz Air flights as checked in baggage, in the cargo hold of the aircraft (with limited liability), or in another seat purchased for the instrument, with the seatbelt fastened around it. When booking the extra seat on Wizz Air’s website, please enter the passenger’s surname and the code “EXST” instead of the first name.
